No Halloween is complete without a jack-o-lantern. This is the perfect time to pick out your ghoulish gourd for holiday display. Pumpkins at the supermarket have most likely been trucked in from a great distance and been sitting for a while. Luckily, the Ventura County Pumpkin Patch on McGrath St is open for business every day.
What: McGrath St Pumpkin Patch
Where: 5156 McGrath St, Ventura
When: Everyday until October 31st, 9am to dusk
Admission: FREE
Ventura residents and visitors alike are invited to peruse the fresh selection of pumpkins and gourds at the Ventura Pumpkin Patch any day of the week. There is also Indian corn (great for Fall decorations) and live farm animals. Every weekend, guests have the option to take a free hay ride. Kids can get their faces painted and then take a pony ride.
On Saturdays, watch a pro create amazing masterpieces during their pumpkin carving demo. An additional carving demonstration will be held this Sunday, October 20th. If you want to learn how to sculpt pumpkins like a pro, the Ventura County Pumpkin Patch will be offering a class on Halloween Day, provided enough people are interested. So, tell a sales associate to sign you up while you’re there.
You don’t have to be an artist to create a fun jack-o-lantern for Halloween. Visit the Ventura County Pumpkin Patch between now and the 31st to pick up one, two or twenty pumpkins for your Ventura home. Happy Halloween, everybody!
