Donations Needed for 2013 Ventura Thanksgiving Baskets

Thanksgiving is one of the only holidays throughout the year that seems to be dedicated totally to family and eating. Unfortunately, hundreds of Ventura County families are struggling to feed their families right now. They would be happy to sit down to any kind of meal, let alone a feast regular citizens are blessed enough to have. You can help. Ventura Teen Voice/PAL says that donations are needed for 2013 Ventura Thanksgiving baskets.

The Ventura Teen Voice Leadership Program is working with the Ventura Police Activities League (PAL) to put together 150 baskets filled with turkeys and all the “fixings” to distribute to needy families in the Ventura area next week. Cash and food donations are needed for the 2013 Ventura Thanksgiving baskets. The cash will be used to purchase food to go into the baskets. Thanks to the generous contribution of local Ventura business Gold Line Towing, each basket will contain one turkey. However, they still need the following canned/pre-packaged food items to fill each basket up:

Stuffing
Dried mashed potatoes
Gravy
Vegetables
Cranberry sauce
Rolls or bread
Pies
Drinks: soda, juice, etc.

Again, monetary donations will be accepted. Any money donated will go directly to purchasing food to fill the Thanksgiving baskets. All donations will be accepted until noon tomorrow, November 22nd in order for volunteers to have enough time to gather materials for making the baskets on Monday and handing them out next Tuesday. Donations are needed for 2013 Ventura Thanksgiving baskets. Please donate what you can to help Ventura families in need enjoy a happy Thanksgiving this year. Thank you!
